Hi from Cambodia!

Well we made it to Cambodia! What a trip, 3 planes to get here but everything went well with no big hassles! Flew Sydney to Melbourne via QANTAS then changed at Tullamarine to Vietnam Air for trip to Ho Chi Minh City, then changed to a smaller plane to fly Vietnam air to Siem Reap in Cambodia. Great hotel, in centre of town. What a place, lots of bustle, hardly anyone has a car so they all used motorbikes and push bikes. No licence required, no helments, no seatbelts. And you take your life in your hands crossing the roads. Fun!!!!! The people are lovely and friendly. Today we went to the magnificent ruins at Ankor Thom and Ankor Wat. Words cant describe how wonderful these places are. So amazing, so huge, so fantastic!!! Loved roaming all over it. It was quite a day, we went in and out and up and down, climbing heaps of stairs. Of course I took heaps of photos, so far I have exceeded my self imposed limit for the day. Took over 400 today. Eek!! Oh well, what the heck! Tomorrow we go the the jungle ruins of Ta Prohm. Looking forward to that immensely. It is very hot and steamy but so far the rain has held off. It is hard to sleep. All the Aussies woke up hours before everyone else as Cambodia and Vietnam are four hours behind us so we were used to getting up early, so we got up 4am which is 8am at home! Too excited to sleep anyway. Tonight we went out to dinner and a show of traditional dancing at a restaurant in the middle of Siem Reap. It was wonderful. Love Cambodia, so sad to believe the awful war that devastated this place and its lovely people. Land mines are still dotted around so it is not safe to wander off the beaten track. Even Ankor Wat is full of bullet holes! Luckily many of the temples are being rebuilt and repaired. The sites are enormous and the atmosphere completely overwhelming. A magic place. Hope to be able to report in again soon!

Isnt Cambodia an amazing place!! I loved the way the traffic is total chaos but there are very few accidents - have you been on a Tuk Tuk ride yet - they are the best!
Have a wonderful time and enjoy this great country!

awwwwwwww sounds like such a beautiful trip already :D. I already miss you heaps. Gosh sharing a house with 3 boys!!! SO NOT USE TO IT! haha.

Ramy dislocated his shoulder on sunday while playing soccer and he was in hospital for 4hours! so me and his cousin were waiting in the boring quiet room alone with no TV or magazines even =[.
We also stayed at his brothers house saturday night it was really fun =]. His brother lives on his own so he gets lonely so we went and stayed over and gave him company. YAY =].

anyways. I hope to hear more about your trip very soon! we all miss you. the cats are looking for you and sitting outside your bedroom door. hehe.
